Easter lunch

Each week we take our students to Daventry District Housing's sheltered housing scheme at Warwick Court. We cook a hot lunch for around 24 elderly residents who enjoy the company of our young people.

Our young people made decorated eggs and the residents decorated bonnets.

Daventry District Housing

We work closely with DDH, who have been keen supporters of Green Acres since we started.

We offer school holiday sessions for their tenant families where we show them how to grow their own vegetables and cook healthy meals.

Cummins

Cummins are the major employer in Daventry. Following a visit from Mark Levett, who was the CEO of the Cummins Foundation worldwide ( now retired after 42 years ), they supported us by securing a substantial grant in order to install excellent new kitchen facilities and a polytunnel. This will help to ensure that we can generate our own income in the future. We have already opened our fortnightly "Friday Cafe".

Northamptonshire Community Foundation

Northamptonshire Community Foundation have continued to support us this year through the High Sheriff's fund. We received a grant to improve our food labelling and packaging. Now we attend Grandborough Farmers' Market each month and sell our cakes, jams, pickles, vegetable plants and home grown vegetables.
